Drawer Runners

What are heavy duty runners?
Heavy duty runners (slides) are also known as telescopic drawer slides or drawer runners. They are engineered to provide horizontal movement and able to support a weight, such as drawers, trays or components that are heavier than usual.
The heavy duty telescopic drawer slides are designed for weights from 45kg to 250kg, made from thick cold rolled steel with a corrosion resistance coating, they offer a full extendable feature making it accessible to reach inside the drawer and equipped with additional functionalities such as detent in or lock in & lock out for safety and convenience.

How do I know what slide length to choose for my drawer or cabinet?
When buying the right heavy duty drawer slides , you will need to measure the inside front edge to the back wall of application. By selecting a slide length that is slightly shorter or the same length than measurements taken. This is to maximise the space that you are using without any interference.
Note that drawer slides should not stick outside when the application is closed and allow a clearance at the back of the drawers.

Load Types
It is important to select the right load rating for your slides as this will determine the weight you can support up to on your side mounted drawer slides.

Medium duty rated: 45kg
Heavy duty rated : 90-120kg
Extra heavy duty rated: 250kg

Installation Width
The amount of space needed to fit the drawer slide on the side of the application such as a unit box or the frame, this will come down to the width, size of the slide, fixing positions and load rating.

Lock In & Lock Out Design
The locking system comes with two types of max weight type of 120kg and 250kg. Each extra / heavy duty locking drawer slide has two sides that includes a locking system to allow the telescopic drawer runners to be locked in the closed position or locked in the fully extended position. This works by either pushing down on the red levers to unlock the slides and pushing up to unlock the slides to retract it back to the closed position. The drawer runners are named R (right) and L (left). If the left side slide is mounted on the right side, the locking lever can be lifted up instead, with the same effect on the opposite side.

Locking Slides – 120kg & 250kg
Our full extension locking drawer slides are made from rolled steel and come in at 120kg and 250kg load capacity. With lengths from 400mm to 1016mm and extended lengths up to 2032mm. The ball bearing runners provide smooth, controlled movement, while the front latch locks the slides in the closed or fully extended position. Built for heavy and extra heavy applications, they allow full access to drawer contents and are ideal for tool boxes, filing cabinets, van conversions, RVs, and more.

Non-Locking Slides – 45kg, 90kg & 120kg
Our medium to heavy duty non-locking drawer slides come in 45kg, 90kg, and 120kg load capacity. They give smooth, full extension access and a detent-in feature to keep drawers shut. Made from quality rolled steel with a zinc plated finish, these ball bearing runners make things run smoothly. Thin and with a triple telescopic design, they’re great for homes, stores, kitchen cabinets, machines, filing cabinets, van storage and more.

Do the slides lock halfway?
The slide doesn’t lock on the half way point only in the fully open or closed position.

Detent In
When the side mounted drawer slides are pushed back into their closed positions, a spring loaded mechanism engages to the notch, sending a click or resistance. This prevents the heavy duty slides mistakenly opening during transportation, vibration and day to day use. The types these come in are 45kg, 90kg and 120kg.

Do detent-in lock the slides?
The detent system is not a locking system but only provides a secure close. The types these come in are 45kg, 90kg and 120kg.

How long do heavy duty drawer slides typically last?
The heavy duty slides are rated up to 50,000 cycles, however this all depends on the application environment, drawer load and length.

Surface Treatment
Zinc Plated (Cr3+):  The top layer of the heavy duty slider is coated with zinc followed by a chromium protective layer. This allows the steel to protect against rust and corrosion.
RoHS Compliance: The finish meets the EU/UK standards of not using hazardous substances for the finish
